Yoga is not a panacea or the answer to everything, but it can really help you, with me it did it… one of the lessons that helped me more is that limits we have are the result of wrong perceptions we have of ourselves… life is flexibility, physical but also mental… if you want to change, if you want to renew yourself, start to be the change you wanna be!
The new year for me always feels like a time of renewal. A time when we start fresh with intentions to create a better world or a better version of ourselves.
To renew ourselves sometimes we need to draw inward. In yoga classes we often talk about drawing in toward center in order to expand. This means we pull into our core, primarily into our pelvis and abdominal muscles first and while maintaining that, we expand. We can go further into a stretch or a difficult pose than we may have thought possible once we line up with nature in this way. We can do so much more than we thought we could; we can achieve poses that were out of our reach just yesterday.
Renewal is very similar. At times we need to regroup, regenerate, reinvigorate by pulling into ourselves in silence or meditation. We can then firmly establish our intentions or goals from this…
