The daily prompt today really reminded me of a quote by one of my favourite authors.
You have to learn a new skill. Do you prefer to read about it, watch someone else do it, hear someone describe it, or try it yourself?
Here’s the Tiziano Terzani quote, it is translated by me, I really hope it keeps the meaning…
“Look” he said “The one in books is all “second-hand knowledge“, knowledge borrowed. Not worth much.” […] The other Way, according to the Old, is the experience. The experience made all by themselves. The real “understanding” is not with head, but it is with the heart. You really understand just what you feel, what you feel inside yourself.

I guess there is not much to add to this well expressed concept, I would definitely go for experiencing and trying all by myself to learn a new skill… 😉
